Single-color LED Dimmer Switches

RGB LED strip lights are made up of a series of RGB LEDs. In each RGB LED there are 3 colored diodes; red, blue, green. To create different lighting color effects, an RGB controller alters the power in the individual RGB channels.
Take, for example, that you have prompted the controller to display yellow lighting. The controllers will direct power supply to the red and green LEDs and turn off power towards the blue LED. The combination of the red and green light channels is what yields yellow lighting. This mechanism is repeated for any other color change prompt.
It is an effective method of changing colors in RGB strip lights. However, only a limited number of color combinations can be achieved using the three colors. The colors produced may also not be as pure as it is not possible to completely blend 2 individual colored streams of light into one.

The power supply should be large enough to keep up with the LED controller’s consumption.
The RGB LED controller is installed between the power supply and the LED strip lights. A typical controller will have a power DC input and port terminal for the strip lights.
The longer the run of your LED strip lights, the weaker the signal transmitted from the controller becomes. A LED amplifier provides a signal and a power boost.

A remote control sends prompts to the RGB LED controller which in turn executes the prompts on the LED strip lights. The remote has to be used within the required maximum range of the LED controller.
Dimming
A +/- button on most remotes is used to adjust or decrease the brightness of the RGB lights to create different moods.
Static Mode
This setting will maintain a single mode of lighting without making any transitions to different colors.
Gradual Fade
This feature provides for slow dimming or color change as opposed to an instantaneous effect.
FADE3/FADE7
In this setting, the lights transition through different shades of 3 or 7 colors in a gradual sequence.
JUMP 3/JUMP 7
A JUMP 3 prompt will cause switching of 3 colors while jump 7 will cause a switch of 7 colors.
Strobe Flash
In this setting, the LED lights flicker at regular intervals.
DIY
A DIY button enables you to design your own unique lighting mode. It could be a sequence of colors or a brightness setting or both.
Speed
A +/- button allows you to set the rate at which you prefer changes like flashing or color change to occur.
Auto
This sets the lights to transition through different lighting modes in an automated sequence.
On/Off
Allows you to switch your LED strip lights on or off remotely.
